Richard McInturff, 28, of Port Jervis, was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 22, during the late evening hours, and charged with three felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, based upon a month-long investigation into the sale of heroin in the area of Jersey Avenue located in Port Jervis, said the Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden.
The arrest is the result of an undercover surveillance operation on Jersey Avenue where McInturff was found in possession of 10 packets containing a mixture of heroin/fentanyl with the intent to distribute, Worden said.
Police continued their investigation and executed a search warrant at his home and recovered an additional 170 packets containing a mixture of heroin/fentanyl, packaging materials, and a quantity of cash.
McInturff is being held on $50,000 bond at the Orange County Jail.
